Duke of Edinburgh's Award
We specialise in supporting schools and organisations with delivery of your DofE expedition programme which would include all planning, training, practice and qualifying expeditions. We are an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award which allows us to deliver expeditions that are safe, appropriate and meet the spirit and ethos of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
We can deliver expeditions at all three levels of DofE; Bronze, Silver and Gold as either a walking, cycling or canoeing expedition. Costs are inclusive of training, practice and qualifying expeditions, instructors, transport, all equipment, campsite fees and assessor reports. Our staff are qualified in the mode of travel that you choose and are DofE expedition superviors and assessors.
Our rates are calculated on a per person basis and are very competitve for all modes of transport and at each level. To discuss options for your organisation please contact info@simonsideoutdooradventure.com
Mayors Award
The Mayors Award is a four part locally recognised award that is sometimes referred to as the mini DofE Award. Folllowing the same four themes as a full Duke of Edinburgh's Award; skill, physical volunteering and expedition at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, this award is ideal for those wishing to use it as a stepping stone onto their Bronze DofE award. Just like the DofE you will need to complete a minimum of 1 hour per week for each of the 3 sections. For a list of local contacts who deliver the Mayors Award, please email
info@simonsideoutdooradventure.com. There is a small charge of £5 to register which covers the cost of your handbook and certification for all three levels
