Simonside Climbing Wall is where we are based and can be contacted here. We are open daily for schools and other organisations to book in for a range of different activities as well as for open access public climbing sessions on an evening.

Water Activities Centre

Our centre is ideally situated at the mouth of the River Tyne and we launch straight into the Tyne Harbour, this is a perfect learning environment and plenty of space for all activities.

We have a large range of craft from powerboats to canoes and kayaks that is suitable for for all ability levels so that you can progress at a level that is suitable for you.

We are recognised by the Royal Yachting Association as a training centre to deliver Powerboating and Personal Watercraft courses. We also deliver British Canoeing personal proficiency courses.

Akenshawburn Cottages

Kielder, Northumberland

Akenshawburn Cottages are located in the heart of Kielder Forest in Northumberland. The accommodation comprises of two forester cottages built in 1907 and 1909. Along with the cottages is 700m2 of private land and a boundary of Akenshawburn stream as it makes its way into Kielder Water.

You can make group bookings for an all inclusive weekend including accomodation, transport, food, instruction and equipment for a range of activites.  Akenshawburn cottages is not available for private hire without accompanying staff.

The cottages sleep a maximum of 30 in total in 4 dormitory style bedrooms. There is a main living area, drying room, toilets, showers, fully equipped kitchen and dining room. There is no phone or internet signal available at the cottages for visiting groups.
