Orienteering

From £130.00 per group*

Like most of our activities, Orienteering can be a one off session, which is a popular choice for primary schools or a block of 6 weeks plus, if working towards a GCSE grade.  The venues that we use are fairly local which maximises the time learning rather than driving.  Although cross curricular, orienteering puts the pupils in a position that requires them to make deicisions with relative and a controlled amount of 'freedom'.  It is through this independence that young people can develop key skills including teamwork, time keeping, organising self and risk assessment as well as a host of soft skills.

Package Includes

Full instruction, maps & compasses, risk assessment and insurance.  Transport is aslo included in these sessions if required.  The sessions can be based at your site or a local park to maximise activity time. Alternatively we could visit one of the larger permanent courses that are based around the region.

Kit Needed

You can orienteer in just about any conditions so you're likely going to get dirty.  Trainers/boots/wellies, clothing appropriate to conditions on the day, waterproof top. if on a GCSE course then you'll also need a pen/pencil and a watch.

Health & Safety

Full guidance and instruction will be given to group/individuals including a briefing highlighting major hazards at each partivular venue, this could include; access tracks, water features uneven surfaces.  All staff are qualified to deliver the sessions and are experienced and knowledgable about the sites used.
